Digital dentistry refers to the use of dental technologies or devices that incorporate digital or computer-controlled components to carry out dental procedures, rather than using mechanical or electrical tools. Technological advances are a reality of our everyday life and dentistry is no exception.
The right technology will create efficiencies for the dental practitioner and comfort for the patient. This is why technology is so important to Dr Golestani and the team at Dental 359. At Dental 359we have a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques which require the use of computer-controlled technology.
Digital Radiography
Dental radiographs are an essential part of diagnosis, documentation and treatment planning at Dental 359. Digital radiography allows clinicians and patients to instantly view images on a computer or TV screen at a high resolution. Compared to traditional film radiographs, digital images offer significantly reduced radiation exposure and can be enhanced and magnified for more accurate diagnosis. Before and after images of our SureSmile patients can be displayed in realtime so patients can clearly see the treatment progress.
CEREC 3D Technology
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) allows Dental 359 to design, create and deliver precision ceramic restorations — including crowns, inlays, on lays and veneers— in a single appointment. A 3D optical camera scans your tooth, and CAD/CAM software mills the restoration from a solid block of ceramic while you wait. No temporary crowns, no second visits, no impression trays. The finished result is strong, tooth-coloured and built to last.
Digital Smile Design
Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a planning tool that allows us to show you what your new smile could look like before any treatment begins. High-resolution photographs and video of your face and teeth are taken and used to digitally map and design your ideal smile, taking into account your facial features, lip line, tooth shape, size and colour preferences. The design is presented to you onscreen, giving you the opportunity to provide feedback and make adjustments until you are completely happy with the proposed result.
We are committed to providing our patients with high quality dental care by using modern technology to allow you to transform and take care of your smile. To find out more about the technology we use at Dental 359, please contact our team.
